18 Nov Ceiba’s Home in Tiahuanaco
It took a lot of research to come up with the setting of Ceiba’s Grace. One of the most satisfying aspects was being able to place Ceiba in her original world of Tiahuanaco. This place, in what is now Bolivia, is still baffling scholars today. Some archaeologists date the ruins standing there at 400 B.C., while others say they could have been built 17,000 years ago. Those brilliant minds are still arguing, so I thought I was safe at guessing 10,000 years ago for my little story.
Ceiba mentions irrigation and other civilized accomplishments. They actually had these things back then! No one knows how or why, but the knowledge existed and there’s proof of it. You can check it out here, here, and here.
