16 Dec A New Cover for Ceiba’s Grace!
When I first imagined signing with a publisher, the only issue I could foresee was the idea of giving control over the cover to someone else. It’s my book, they’re my works. This book is my baby! How could I possibly let the publisher have the final say over something as important as the cover?
My husband, ever the snarky man, assured me that no one judges a book by its cover. Of course they do! So, when I got the cover of Ceiba’s Grace, I was able to applaud the artist for a brilliant design… but I secretly wanted to cry. It wasn’t at all what I pictured when I thought of the cover of my first book. The woman was a bit too young, the building wasn’t historically accurate. (And, yes, we do know what building 10,000 years ago in Tiahuanaco looked like.) It wasn’t quite right.
The powers that be at Difference Press heard my cries and now Ceiba’s Grace has been re-released with a new cover! Take a look:
It’s perfect! I love the model. I love the hint of lightning in the background. And, best of all, it sets the tone for the whole series. Dreams are coming true!
